UCL has released the least of the four London and Oxbridge schools we hold data for: one cycle of applications, interviews and offers, and the number of places through to 2027. Offer A*AA, MMI. UCAT threshold 2,190 for 2026 entry, 2,080 contextual.

How UCL builds its shortlist
UCAT first, SJT to split ties
Shortlisting for interview is based on the UCAT. Where applicants have the same score, the SJT band is used to separate them, so a better band matters at the margin.
Two thresholds
The standard threshold was 2,190 for 2026 entry. For contextual (Access UCL) applicants the cutoff was 2,080.
GCSEs are a minimum, not a score
GCSEs are used to confirm you have at least grade 6 in English Language and Mathematics. Beyond that they are not part of the ranking.
67% of Home interviewees got an offer for 2025 entry
From UCL’s own figures below: 569 offers from 845 Home interviews, against 44% for international applicants. Imperial aims for 75%. The rate moves with each cycle, so the interview carries a real share of the decision here.
