Version 2.223 updatesLatest 4 October 2026

What’s new.

Every version of MedOffr, newest first. A big update moves the second number (v1.7 to v1.8), a minor update or fix the third (v1.7.1); the redesign started version 2. Fixes to figures that were wrong are also logged on the corrections page.

  1. v2.2Big update

A UCAT score converter, and old scores converted by percentile

    • A converter on the UCAT page: type a total from any test from 2022 to 2026 and see where it sat among that year's candidates, and the score at the same place on another year's test, out of 3,600 or 2,700.
    • UCAT's decile tables for 2022 to 2026 side by side, and the 2024 test's subtests with Abstract Reasoning.
    • Every school figure from before 2025 is now converted by percentile on its own year's deciles instead of a flat ratio, so the readings at King's, Barts, Birmingham, Nottingham, UEA, Plymouth, Aston and Lancashire, and Newcastle's international line, have moved. The corrections page has the details.
    • The percentile lookup follows a smooth curve through the deciles rather than straight lines between them.
  2. v2.1Big update

The finder, split your way, and this updates page

    • The finder's results are split into groups, with a Split by choice beside Sort: by applicant status (Home and international, Home only, international only, private), or by whether each school looks at the UCAT, GCSEs, predicted grades or the personal statement. Where a school publishes nothing either way, it says so rather than guessing.
    • Cambridge is read on a new rough baseline: under 2,200 an interview is possible with 9 or more grade 9s; 2,200 is competitive with 8 or more, 2,250 with 7, 2,300 with 6 (and 8 at grade 8 or 9) and 2,350 with 5 (and 7 at 8 or 9). Nobody knows which profiles Cambridge will interview, and every reading says it is a guide, not a promise.
    • The changelog is now this page: every update has a version number and is marked big or minor.
    • Edge Hill's logo, and BSMS's logo as the school supplies it.
    • The text in the homepage's buttons is centred.
  3. v2.0Big update

    A new look

    • A new design: frosted-glass panels over a still graphite background, in black, white and grey, so colour on the page only ever means a verdict.
    • Headline words in polished metal, and a light or dark theme that follows your device.
    • Every school's logo in a shape that suits it, from square crests to wide wordmarks, with room to breathe, and at the top right of each school's page.
    • On the homepage, every confirmed UCAT line as a dot on the UCAT scale, in place of the dial.
  4. v1.8Big update

UCAT score bands for international applicants

    • The UCAT scores page has a Home or International switch. As international, every table shows the line schools set for international applicants, and the score bands are rebuilt on those lines, one page per band, each reading your total at the 38 schools that use the UCAT and take international students.
    • Each international band page reads a school against its international line where it published one, and says so where it did not; competition figures are for international applicants only. Anglia Ruskin, Bangor, Edge Hill and Lincoln, which take Home applicants only, are left out.
  5. v1.7.2Minor update

International figures on the cards, and a word for each gap-year situation

    • Applying as international, each school's card now shows the international UCAT line where the school published one, its international places and how it selects international applicants, and competition for international applicants only, for the 26 schools that released it. Contextual offers, which are for Home applicants, are no longer shown.
    • The comparison does the same.
    • On the gap-year page, choosing your situation now opens a few words for it, and each route has a list of ways to use the year: with the resits, or without them if you have the grades.
  6. v1.7.1Minor update

    The easier-to-read font stays on

    • Choosing the easier-to-read font (Atkinson Hyperlegible) in the footer now lasts: before, it switched back to the standard font on the next page you opened.
    • On the gap-year page, choosing your situation now takes you down to your route, not just to the right tab.
  7. v1.7Big update

Applying as an international student, and a check before you submit

    • Under your shortlist, Before you submit checks it once more: the UCAS rules, anything that would stop a school considering you, how the four read for interviews, what you have not entered yet, a fifth choice and the days to the deadline.
    • A Home or International switch at the top of the finder. As international, your UCAT is read against the international line each school published, where it published one, moved with the final deciles.
    • Hertfordshire and St Mary's, open only to international students this cycle, are read like any other school and can be suggested; Anglia Ruskin, Bangor, Edge Hill and Lincoln, which take Home applicants only, read as impossible.
    • Contextual schemes, which are for Home applicants, are switched off, and the comparison shows each school's international line.
  8. v1.6Big update

Compare schools, and a suggested four your way

    • Tick Compare on up to three school cards to see them side by side: your verdict at each, the offer, the UCAT line and where we expect it this cycle, the SJT rule, competition, interview format, resit policy and more.
    • The suggested four now comes in three mixes: four solid choices, three and one aim high, or two and two. Each says what it suits and what it costs.
    • Show another four gives a different version from the schools that fit your profile, as many times as there are versions to give, and Back to the first returns to the closest fit.
    • If you are resitting, the finder now asks which subjects and what you got the first time, and checks each school's rules on how many subjects, which ones, and what grades.
    • Cambridge is now read with your GCSEs: the more grade 9s, the lower the UCAT we would want, from about 2,200 with 10 or more to 2,400 with fewer than five.
    • Cambridge's page has the 2026 cycle's applications and offers by college, from its admissions statistics dashboard, with how many came through the winter pool.
    • Every verdict now says what it is: your chance of an interview, never of an offer. Offers are decided at interview, on answers no figure can predict.
    • Oxford's card and page now show its own 2026-cycle shortlisting figures: about 41% of eligible applicants interviewed, and about 41% of those offered a place.
    • Oxford and Cambridge are suggested only for the strongest GCSE profiles. Where Cambridge is possible rather than likely, the finder says so and offers it only to someone who wants two aim-high choices; with eight grade 9s, a 2,300 UCAT and A*A*A predicted, Cambridge counts as a solid choice.
  9. v1.5.1Minor update

Admissions numbers for the newer schools

    • Deciles are described the way UCAT names them, by their boundaries, with the percentiles beside them: “between the 8th and 9th decile boundaries (the 80th to 90th percentile)”, and a school's competitive range as “Top 20%”.
    • A percentile lookup on the UCAT page: type your total for an estimate of where it sits among 2026 candidates, worked out from UCAT's final deciles, with a link to UCAT's own lookup for the exact figure.
    • Kent and Medway's page now has three years of Home applications, interviews, offers and the UCAT of interviewees, 2025 entry by application route, and its applicants' GCSEs against their schools'.
    • Lancashire's page has three years of Home funnels with the lowest and average UCAT of interviewees, and Brunel's has three years of Home applications and interviews, with its Home and international places.
    • Greater Manchester's and Hertfordshire's pages say what each released about its international intake. Edge Hill refused to release any figures, and its page says so.
    • Every newer school now shows its logo.
    • With them, MedOffr covers every UK medical school with a standard-entry (A100) course, and Buckingham.
    • The UCAT pages now include Hertfordshire and St Mary's, which use the UCAT but take only international students for 2027 entry, marked international only and kept out of a UK applicant's counts. Buckingham and Greater Manchester, which do not use the UCAT this cycle, are named but not counted.
    • Every score band, and the try-it-now on the homepage, now counts all 42 schools that use the UCAT, with Hertfordshire and St Mary's marked international only.
    • Buckingham and Greater Manchester are marked “No UCAT” on their cards and pages, and named, with what they use instead, at the top of the UCAT pages and on every score band.
  10. v1.5Big update

    Ten more medical schools

    • Bangor, Brunel, Edge Hill, Kent and Medway, Lancashire and Lincoln are in the finder and the UCAT pages, each with a page of its own.
    • So is Buckingham, the private medical school, with its fees on its card. It does not use the UCAT, and the finder never suggests it for your four.
    • Greater Manchester, Hertfordshire and St Mary's take only international students for 2027 entry. Their cards say so, and they are never suggested.
    • None of the ten has released admissions statistics yet, so their pages set out each school's own rules. Lincoln's page has its whole scoring system, and Kent and Medway's page puts its UCAT threshold on today's scale.
    • Edge Hill accepts A*AB in place of AAA when the A* is in Biology or Chemistry, and the finder reads that correctly.
  11. v1.4.1Minor update

Contextual, international and Scottish lines this cycle, and lighter pages

    • The UCAT page now says where we expect each school's contextual, widening-participation, international and Scottish lines to fall this cycle, moved with the final deciles like the standard ones.
    • If you are contextual, the finder reads your UCAT against where we expect the contextual line, not last cycle's: a score just over last cycle's is marked as a risk.
    • Most pages now load about half the JavaScript they did, so they are quicker to start on a phone.
  12. v1.4Big update

The final 2026 UCAT deciles, and where we expect the lines

    • Every decile is now read against UCAT's final 2026 figures, shown beside the preliminary ones and 2025's so you can see how they moved: about 30 higher than last year.
    • Where a school's UCAT line is set by its applicants, the finder reads your score against where we expect it to fall this cycle: last cycle's line moved with the deciles, and more at the schools with the highest lines. Between the two is marked as a risk.
    • Notes on what the final deciles mean for choosing your four.
    • Contextual offers at UCL, Bristol and City St George's, and a fix for contextual offers that have no A*.
  13. v1.3.2Minor update

    A shortlist that stays put

    • Signed in, your shortlist is saved the moment you change it, on its own, and is the same on every device you sign in on.
    • Coming back to a page or a tab always shows your latest shortlist, never an older one.
  14. v1.3.1Minor update

    Motion that shows what changed

    • When a verdict changes, the new one fades into place, and cards slide to their new order.
    • A screen reader hears one summary of the verdicts once you stop typing, instead of every card.
    • A school's card carries its name and offer into the school's page.
    • Charts draw themselves as you scroll to them.
    • All of it stays still if your device asks for reduced motion, and every page now shows in full without JavaScript.
    • Your UCAT total rolls up as you enter each subtest, and numbers your entries change are briefly highlighted.
    • Filters fade out the schools they remove, and the shortlist fills four slots as you add schools.
    • Folded sections open smoothly, the search opens and moves its highlight smoothly, and an undo shows how long is left to press it.
    • The scrolling list of schools on the homepage has a Pause button.
  15. v1.3Big update

Sharing, calendars and an app you can install

    • A countdown to the UCAS Medicine deadline (6pm, 15 October) on the homepage.
    • My application: add your four Medicine choices and move each from waiting to interview, offer or rejection, with your offer pasted in.
    • Try the finder from the homepage: type a UCAT score and watch the verdicts appear.
    • Add the UCAS Medicine deadline, and the week UCAT results reach universities, to your calendar.
    • Share links come with a QR code, for a sixth-form handout.
    • Each school's page has its own share image, and a widget a medical society can embed.
    • Install MedOffr on your phone's home screen; the finder works offline.
    • The statement form counts characters against the UCAS limits as you type, tidies pasted text, and keeps your draft in this browser.
    • A mistyped address suggests the page you probably meant.
  16. v1.2Big update

Search, dark mode and a faster finder

    • Search everything with / or Cmd+K: schools by name, city or abbreviation (KCL, QMUL, HYMS), pages, glossary terms, or a UCAT score.
    • Dark mode that follows your device, and an easier-to-read font, both in the footer.
    • The finder's filters live in the address, so a link opens the same view. On phones they sit in a bottom sheet.
    • Shortlist from a school's own page, or press s there. Every add or remove can be undone.
    • Drag your shortlist into order, print it or save it as a PDF, and see recently viewed schools.
    • School pages: breadcrumbs, a contents bar that follows you, previous and next school (swipe on a phone), sticky table headers, a column menu, and “Report an error” on every table, chart and figure.
    • Hover a school's name anywhere for a summary. A glossary explains the admissions words, and dotted words show their definition.
    • Cards say how recently each school's figures were checked, and four schools show how their line moved over past cycles.
  17. v1.1.1Minor update

Fixes from a review of the whole site

    • How each school uses the personal statement is labelled more precisely, including “Used at interview, not scored”.
    • The 15 medical schools not yet covered are all named.
    • The privacy policy now covers explicit consent for health and personal circumstances, and Anthropic's 30-day retention.
    • Academic exploration out of 5 replaces the separate science score.
  18. v1.1Big update

Resits, gap years and contextual offers

    • A-level offers and subject rules for 2027 entry at every school, including a second science where a school asks for one.
    • Each school's contextual offer and eligibility checker, and contextual offers now change the verdicts, marked “if contextual”.
    • An “I'm resitting” option in the finder, with each school's resit rule applied and a Resits filter.
    • A Gap year page: missed your offer, or reapplying with the grades you have.
    • An About page, and City St George's under its current name.
  19. v1.0.4Minor update

    Accounts you can trust

    • Forgotten passwords can be reset by email.
    • An account works only once its email is confirmed, and a confirmation link can be sent again.
    • Unconfirmed sign-ups are cleared away weekly and expired reviews daily.
  20. v1.0.3Minor update

A shared inbox, security and accessibility

    • Messages sent through the contact form have an inbox, and a message is resolved when both sides say so.
    • A content security policy, and a rate limit on the contact form.
    • Everything an accessibility audit found, fixed, and automated tests of the key journeys on every deploy.
  21. v1.0.2Minor update

    A public corrections log

    • Every error that reaches the site is fixed within 48 hours of being confirmed and logged at /corrections.
    • Report links on every data page.
  22. v1.0.1Minor update

Credit packs and the terms of sale

    • Statement review credits can be bought through Stripe, under plain-English terms of sale and a real privacy policy.
  23. v1.0Big update

    Every school, every figure

    • All 34 schools have a data page built from their own statistics and Freedom of Information responses.
    • A UCAT scores page with every confirmed cut-off and a page for each score band.
