Read this before you use any number on the page

Every UCAT figure on this page is on the old scale out of 3,600, with Abstract Reasoning included. The test is now scored out of 2,700 without it. Compare the shape of the numbers, never your own score against them.
King’s says its lowest UCAT and interview figures are not cut-offs. It is not the case that everyone above them was interviewed or offered; the score is a ranking, not a bar.
The interview-level data covers everyone invited to interview in the 2023 and 2024 cycles and nobody else. It says what happens once you are in the room; it says nothing about who gets there.
A few interviewees each year have no interview score held against them and all of them got an offer. King’s does not say why. They are shown separately and left out of the score-band tables.
The 150-point model (170 with contextual points) is how King’s ranks applications for interview. Both the UCAT percentile and the contextual check are King’s own calculations on that year’s applicants, so no outside tool can score you exactly, and the weights can change in any cycle.

How King’s scores your application: 150 points before interview

Every application is marked out of 150 (170 with contextual points) and ranked; the interview list comes off the top of that ranking. Three things go into it.

UCAT

100 points

Your percentile among that year’s applicants to King’s, not the national pool. Top 1% of King’s applicants is the 99th percentile and scores 99; the median applicant scores 50. Because King’s applicants score well above the national average, your percentile here is lower than the national decile table suggests.

SJT

10 points

Band 1 scores 10, Band 2 scores 5, Bands 3 and 4 score 0. Band 4 is an automatic reject, which makes Band 3 the risky one: still in, but 10 points behind a Band 1 with the same everything else.

GCSEs

40 points

Counted by grades at 8 or 9: 8 or more earns 40, 7 earns 30, 6 earns 20, 5 earns 10. Minimums matter less than at Imperial, but you still need grade 6 in English Language and Mathematics.

Contextual points

20 points, all or nothing

King’s checks the UCAS data for contextual indicators. Trigger at least one and the full 20 points are added to the raw total; trigger none and the field is 0. There is no partial credit. The indicators include:

POLAR4 quintile 1 or 2 (a neighbourhood with low progression to university)
ACORN category 4 or 5
care experience
a low-performing state school
completion of an official widening-participation programme such as Realising Opportunities

What decides an offer once you are interviewed

King’s released every interviewee’s interview score, UCAT total and outcome for the 2023 and 2024 cycles. Two things stand out: the interview score decides, and the UCAT that got you the interview stops mattering.

The line moved between cycles: in 2023 an interview score of 75% or more was all but an offer and nothing under 65% got one; in 2024, with more offers to give, the near-certain line dropped to 70%. Where the line sits depends on how many offers King’s needs that year, so aim well above it rather than at it.

UCAT no longer counts once you are in the room

Among interviewees, the share offered barely changes across UCAT bands, and higher UCAT scorers did not interview better. The UCAT buys the interview; the interview buys the offer.

Five cycles of published statistics, 2020 to 2024

From King’s own admissions statistics. A cycle is named for its entry year: the 2024 cycle ran from 2023 to 2024. Domicile, not fee status, splits UK from non-UK, so the split is consistent across Brexit. In 2024, 2,810 applied, 982 were interviewed and 328 enrolled.
