- An online panel interview of about 20 minutes.
- Who interviews
- Two selectors, usually senior academic or clinical staff and sometimes a lay selector; Queen Mary's FOI response describes them as a mix of academic, professional, research and technical staff.
- How it is scored
- Out of 100, from the two selectors. Each area is marked out of 10: 10 is exceptional, 8 to 9.5 excellent (every question answered very well), 6 to 7.5 good (a slight reservation, or answers that needed prompting), 4 to 5.5 average (questions not fully answered).
- From interview to offer
- The SJT band is added to the interview score: Band 1 adds 2 points, Band 2 adds 1, Band 3 adds nothing. Offers may also consider the tariff and UCAT.
