Four years of applications, interviews, offers and entrants by fee status, with the lowest and average UCAT of those interviewed. Aberdeen scores academics (30%) and the UCAT (20%), invites the highest scorers, then adds the interview (50%). For 2026 entry the lowest rest-of-UK UCAT interviewed was 1,720 and the average 1,990; 164 of 222 rest-of-UK applicants were interviewed and 133 got an offer. Offer AAA, MMI, about 7 stations.

2026 entry is on the current UCAT scale out of 2,700; 2023 to 2025 entry are on the old scale out of 3,600. Aberdeen’s own conversion of the 2025 lines (old total minus the 2024 Abstract Reasoning average) is shown as a rough equivalent, not an exact one.

“Lowest UCAT interviewed” is the lowest score of anyone invited in that group. The 2026 figures (1,700, 1,720, 1,730) are the thresholds Aberdeen applied; the average interviewee sat some 250 to 300 above them, because above the threshold the UCAT is a scored component alongside academics.
Places for Scottish and rest-of-UK applicants are set by the Scottish Government and shown together as Aberdeen gives them; rest-of-UK applicants compete for a small share of them, which is why their interview and offer rates are far lower than Scottish ones.

How Aberdeen selects

Objectively scored, in three parts

Academic achievement or predictions (30%) and the UCAT (20%) are scored and added, and the highest-scoring applicants are invited to interview. The interview score (50%) is then added to what has already been scored.

UCAT thresholds, 2026 entry

The lowest scores invited: 1,700 for Scottish applicants, 1,720 for the rest of the UK, 1,730 for international. Reset each cycle.

A levels

AAA including Chemistry, one of Biology, Human Biology, Mathematics or Physics, and one other subject.

GCSEs

English Language and Mathematics at grade 6 or above are required; Biology and Physics at 6 or above are recommended.

Aberdeen interviews most Scottish applicants (88% in 2026) and makes offers to about three-quarters of them, but the rest of the UK competes for a small allocation: 74% interviewed and 45 entrants from 222 applications in 2026. The 2026 lines were low (1,720 for the rest of the UK) because the UCAT is only 20% of the score; the average rest-of-UK interviewee had 1,990 and the average offer holder 2,000. Contextual applicants were interviewed from about 40 to 90 old-scale points below non-contextual ones in 2025.
