Share of interviewees offered a place, 2023 to 2025 entry
Offers divided by interviews each year, Home applicants. Hover or tab to a year for the counts.
| Value | Detail | |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 entry | 59% | 591 offers from 1,001 interviews |
| 2024 entry | 70% | 618 offers from 881 interviews |
| 2025 entry | 90% | 749 offers from 832 interviews |
Offers outnumber places, because not everyone offered accepts or meets the conditions; this is the share offered, not the share who get a place.

We have not added Bristol’s own description of what its interview assesses yet. MMI interviews generally test motivation for medicine, communication, ethical reasoning, teamwork and what you learnt from work experience; the questions below cover each.
Tie-breaker only
Used only to separate applicants tied on UCAT; it does not lift a score under the line.
It does not count at the interview. The SJT is not used at any stage, so a Band 4 is not a rejection here.
Questions to practise
Written by MedOffr in the style of MMI stations. None is taken from Bristol or claimed to have been asked there.
01 · Motivation
Why medicine, rather than nursing, pharmacy or becoming a physician associate?
02 · Ethics
A 15-year-old asks a GP for contraception and does not want her parents told. What should the GP weigh up?
03 · Role play
You borrowed a friend's laptop and it has stopped working. The actor is your friend: tell them.
04 · Data
This table shows A&E waiting times at two hospitals over a year. What can and can't you conclude from it?
05 · Teamwork
Tell us about a time a group you were part of was not working well. What did you do, and what would you change?
06 · Work experience
What did you see on your work experience that surprised you about a doctor's job?
07 · The NHS
What is one pressure on the NHS at the moment, and what would you do about it?
