2026 and 2027 entryInternational applicantsFinal 2026 deciles

Your UCAT, against every line actually published.

Two decisions, not one: the cognitive total sets which schools are reachable, and the rules schools out or costs you points. A school’s is where last year’s ranking stopped, not a promise for this one. Switch between them below. For a verdict that weighs both against your grades, GCSEs and fee status, use the school finder.

Key dates this cycle

Interview dates vary by school; each school’s page has its own.

Read against the line each school set for international applicants, where it published one, at the 38 schools that use the UCAT and take international students. The lines differ from the Home ones, so the bands do too.

Published minimums for 2027 entry

3 schools

Published in advance: below it the application is not considered. Clearing it is the start, not the end. Only three schools publish one on the current scale; everywhere else the line appears after the cycle.

SchoolInternational applicantBy groupWhat the figure is
Keele1,950Home 1,700 · International 1,950Published minimum — Above the floor the total only sets your quintile, worth 5 of the 25 shortlisting points; the personal statement is worth 15.
Edinburgh1,850All applicants 1,850Published minimum — Above it applicants are ranked into deciles and scored, so 2,100+ is the practical target. SJT Band 4 is rejected.
Sheffield1,800All applicants 1,800Published minimum — Access to Sheffield and recognised pathway applicants are interviewed from this floor; everyone else is ranked, and the 2026 ranking stopped at 2,120.

Where the line fell for 2026 entry

13 figures

Where the ranking stopped in that cycle. Set after applications closed, so it moves with the next cohort. Rows marked “lowest score invited” are not thresholds at all: they are the lowest total that actually reached an interview, so someone was simply the last one in. Where a school gave no international line, the row says so and its other figures are beside it; the bar for you there may be higher.

SchoolInternational applicantBy groupWhat the figure is
Imperial2,310Home 2,320 · Home, contextual 2,170 · International 2,310Where the line fell — Up from 2,260 the cycle before, so a score within 30 to 50 of it is not safe if it rises again.

Reading the groups

Every row uses these terms. The large figure in each row is the one an international applicant should read: the school's international line, or the one figure it gave for all applicants.

Home
A UK applicant on the school's standard route, outside any contextual scheme.
Rest of UK
At a Scottish school, an applicant from England, Wales or Northern Ireland: the row most readers here want.
All applicants
One figure for everyone, whatever their fee status or background.
Standard, no uplift
Anglia Ruskin raises some groups' scores before ranking; this is the line for everyone it does not.
Scottish
At a Scottish school, an applicant living in Scotland, who is often read against a lower figure.
International
An applicant paying international fees.
Contextual, widening participation and named schemes
A lower line for applicants who meet that school's own criteria. The university checks eligibility itself, so the row applies only if it agrees you qualify.

Final 2026 UCAT deciles, and how they moved

What percentile is your score?

Type a total to see it.

An estimate from UCAT’s final 2026 decile boundaries, so it can differ slightly from UCAT’s own figure, most at the ends of the scale. For the exact percentile, use UCAT’s percentile lookup. Some universities rank you against their own applicants instead.

UCAT’s final figures for the 2026 test, the one you sat for 2027 entry. Every decile on this site is now read against them. The preliminary boundaries published on 13 September 2026 are kept beside them, and so is 2025, the test last cycle’s lines were drawn on. The score shown is the one at each decile rank: the 1st is the 10th percentile, the 9th the 90th.

Decile2026 final2026 preliminary2025 finalChange on 2025

8th2,1402,1902,100+40
9th2,2502,3002,220+30

A score above the 9th decile (2,250) is in the 10th. The final boundaries came out 40 to 60 lower than the preliminary ones, so your final decile may be one higher than the preliminary table showed.

What the final deciles mean for your four

The deciles are about 30 higher than last year’s. The rise is 10 at the 1st decile and 40 through the middle and upper deciles, so the same score sits lower in the field this year than it did last year.

Higher deciles do not mean you cannot apply to the schools with high UCAT lines. They mean there is more risk in doing so.

A school with a high cut-off attracts a higher proportion of students with high scores. Applicants who know they clear the lines at Imperial, Bristol or UCL are more likely to apply there, so those schools’ applicant pools are made up of higher UCAT scores. Their lines are drawn by ranking that pool, so with more high scorers in it the ranking stops higher, and the cut-off rises.

That is not a reason not to apply. It is a reason to be careful: nobody knows this year’s cut-offs until the cycle is over, so pick your four to get four interviews from four choices, not to apply to the places you would most like to go and hope.

Studying somewhere you want to be matters, but it means nothing if that school does not interview you. Put getting four interviews ahead of applying to a high-risk school simply because you want to study there.

Where we expect each school’s line to fall this cycle is in the next section, and the finder reads every score against it.

Where we expect the international lines to fall this cycle

Our reading, not the schools’ figures: nobody knows this cycle’s cut-offs until it is over. For each school whose international line is set by its applicants, last cycle’s line is moved by as much as the deciles moved at that point of the scale, which finds the same place on this year’s test. Between last cycle’s line and ours, the finder reads “possible”: you can apply, but it is a risk.

Rounded up to the next ten, since totals move in tens and rounding down would understate the risk. Far fewer applicants stand behind an international line than a Home one, so there is no field to add a margin for, and these lines swing more from one cycle to the next: treat them as a rough guide. Leeds, Aberdeen, Keele and St Andrews published a lowest score invited or a minimum rather than a line, so they are not moved; their figures are in the tables above.

Where can you apply with your score as an international student?

One page per band, each reading the score at all 38 schools that use the UCAT and take international students: against the school’s international line where it published one, and its general figures where it did not. Anglia Ruskin, Bangor (North Wales Medical School), Edge Hill and Lincoln take Home applicants only, so they are left out. A band is as wide as the data allows: where consecutive totals give exactly the same answer at every school they are a single band. Everything below 1,640, the lowest line an international applicant is read against, is one band that sets out the alternatives to Medicine; contextual routes, which reach lower, are for Home applicants. Each page reads the score at the bottom of its band and says where a school’s line falls inside it.

Last updated 2 October 2026, from the universities’ published statistics and Freedom of Information responses. Each school’s own page carries its sources and the date its figures were last confirmed.
